2026 and the art of transforming long weekends into unique experiences.

A curated look at this year's long weekends and how to transform them into experiences aligned with the rhythm of each season.

There are years that pass without leaving a mark and others that reveal themselves to those who pay attention to the rhythm of the calendar; 2026 belongs to this second group. Long weekends are distributed throughout the calendar as natural pauses, well-placed intervals that allow travel when the weather is favorable, the destinations breathe better, and the experience becomes more authentic. It's not about accumulating free days, but about recognizing the right moment, the landscape, and the appropriate rhythm of each season. This blog was born from this reading of the calendar, a curatorial look at how to transform dates into well-chosen experiences, by Douglas Vojivoda.

The year begins with one of its longest and most symbolic periods: Carnival, from February 14th to 18th. While much of the country turns to intensity and excess, there is a more restrained and refined interpretation of this period. The UXUA Casa Hotel & Spa, in Trancoso, proposes exactly this counterpoint. Located in the historic Quadrado, the hotel occupies old houses restored with meticulous craftsmanship, combining colonial architecture, Brazilian design, and mature tropical gardens. The month brings constant warmth, vibrant sea, and a pulsating cultural energy to southern Bahia.

April offers two strategic and complementary breaks. Good Friday, between April 3rd and 5th, provides a short and well-placed interval. Shortly after, the Tiradentes holiday connects to the weekend of April 18th to 21st, creating a second opportunity for escape. On the edge of Praia do Espelho, the MAION Hotel and Boutique perfectly captures this moment. It features few suites, contemporary design, total integration with the landscape, and an atmosphere that prioritizes silence and contemplation. April usually offers stable weather, pleasant temperatures, and calm seas in southern Bahia. It's the ideal month for long walks on the beach, leisurely meals, and a direct, uninterrupted connection with nature.

May brings Labor Day, from the 1st to the 3rd, creating a perfect long weekend for trips that call for immediate slowdown. In Campos do Jordão, the Botanique Hotel & Spa offers an immersion in the Brazilian mountains with original architecture integrated into the landscape and an experience centered on contemporary Brazilian culture. May marks the beginning of milder temperatures in the Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range, with fresh air, softer light, and an introspective atmosphere. An ideal setting for a lit fireplace, authentic cuisine, and days dedicated to well-being.

In June, Corpus Christi falls between the 4th and 7th, connecting Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It's ideal for crossing borders, and in the Uco Valley, at the foot of the Andes Mountains, Casa de Uco combines contemporary architecture, vineyards, and an experience deeply connected to the Argentinian terroir. June is a period of late harvest and dry weather in Mendoza, favoring tastings and expansive landscapes.

The second half of the year begins with Brazil's Independence Day holiday on September 7th, which in 2026 falls on a Monday, connecting to the weekend of the 5th and 6th. In the interior of São Paulo, the Fasano Fazenda Boa Vista offers a sophisticated interpretation of the Brazilian countryside. Among lakes, preserved forest, and residences of precise architecture, the hotel combines privacy, excellent gastronomy, and outdoor experiences.

In October, Our Lady of Aparecida's feast day falls on the 12th, coinciding with the weekend of the 10th and 11th. On the southern coast of Alagoas, the Kenoa Exclusive Beach Spa Retreat is establishing itself as a benchmark for eco-luxury in Brazil. Its designer architecture, rigorously applied sustainability practices, and highly personalized service define the experience. October brings calm seas, clear skies, and stable temperatures, creating the ideal setting for a holiday focused on aesthetic relaxation, privacy, and tailor-made experiences.

November presents two significant breaks. All Souls' Day, on November 2nd, creates a natural holiday between October 31st and November 1st. Black Awareness Day, on November 20th, connects to the weekend of November 21st and 22nd. In the Pantanal region of Mato Grosso do Sul, Fazenda Caiman transforms these dates into a more essential experience, marked by photographic safaris, preserved biodiversity, and discreet hospitality. November coincides with the flood season in the region, when wildlife intensifies and the landscape reveals itself in a particularly exuberant way.

The year ends with Christmas on December 25th. In southern Bahia, Vila Naiá offers a more essential interpretation of this date, far from excess and close to preserved nature. Among bungalows integrated into the forest, virtually untouched open sea, and hospitality that prioritizes privacy, Christmas takes on a different rhythm. December in the region combines constant warmth, expansive skies, and long late afternoons, creating the ideal setting for an intimate celebration, where refinement is revealed in the details and time passes at the pace of the landscape, not the schedule.

2026 is not just a set of favorable dates; it's an invitation to use time intentionally, choosing precisely when to go, where to go, and why. When the calendar is read carefully, each holiday ceases to be just a pause and becomes an experience that lasts. Living the unimaginable isn't about exaggeration. It's about being in the right place, at the right time, when the landscape surprises more than any expectation.

With Voji, the extraordinary isn't announced, it reveals itself on every journey.
